Keep a Journal Eight years ago I was given a journal book for my birthday. I am not the type to process my feelings in a diary, but I did not want to stow my friend's magnificent gift in a drawer somewhere. I started using it to record my year. In it, I put inspiring quotes, and books I read, movies and theatre productions I attended. Every year, I make a list of twenty outrageous things 'To Do' each year. I clipped recipes, newspaper articles, gallery openings, and all sorts of things and glued them in. My journal attracts so much positive energy into my life. Soon, I'll debrief my year as my birthday is quickly approaching this March, I'll get a new journal to start my New Year.
Quote
"And the day came when the risk [it took] to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." Anais Nin
If you have a desire, a project like writing a book or running a marathon, but it is still just an idea, take a chance and let the idea blossom. When we do not fulfill our passions, we feel the pain of loss and the pain of wondering . . . what if.
Restaurants
Tired of the same old restaurant? Search the newspaper or local magazines for advertisements about 'restaurant openings'. If you can't go in the near future, clip the notice and paste it in your journal book. When a friend phones to meet you for lunch, try the new restaurant. Together, you and your friend can share in another person's dream, a dream of owning a restaurant. This way you can keep dreams alive. |
